Aurora, On Basement Renovation Built For EntertainmentÂ
Yorkland Homes recently completed a stunning basement renovation in Aurora, Ontario. This project involved a full demolition of the existing basement, allowing us to start fresh and create a modern, functional space that exceeded the clients expectations. When we showed up to the basement, the clients where not happy with the current layout of there old outdated basement. They also recently built a pool in there backyard so they really wanted a basement they can entertain their guests and there children. We came across a few problems during the renovation, like low head room in some spots because of the Air ducts running through the basement. We managed to save as much room as possible by playing around with the framing and not adding subfloors on the floors. The basement was 1,100 square feet in size, with luxury vinyl planks installed throughout for a durable and stylish finish.
One of the main features of this renovation was the 3-piece washroom. We used a nice 24×24 tiles in a white color with gray veins, giving the space a sleek and timeless look. Tiles where purchased from Tile Master in aurora. The bathroom also featured a custom glass shower, adding a touch of luxury and sophistication.
Another highlight of the basement was the installation of a prebuilt sauna from Costco, providing the homeowners with a relaxing retreat within their own home. To enhance the entertainment experience, we designed and built a custom TV wall unit, complete with cabinets on both sides and an electric fireplace, making it the perfect spot to unwind.
The basement also featured a beautifully designed wet bar, constructed using IKEA cabinets that we customized on site to fit perfectly within the space. The large island, topped with quartz countertops, served as both a functional workspace and a social gathering area. The shelving above the bar was made from solid oak wood, stained to match the client’s desired color, and equipped with LED strip lighting for a modern touch.
As always, we used Premium Benjamin Moore Paints to Paint the walls, ceilings and baseboards. We also did custom oak steps and railings.
Overall, the finished basement was both stylish and practical, meeting the clients needs and enhancing the value of their home. The clients where extremely pleased with the final result, especially with the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail that Yorkland Homes is known for.
