Newmarket Basement Apartment

This Newmarket Basement Apartment renovation Was a smaller project. The Basement was about 300 sq ft. The client was looking to turn this unfinished basement into an apartment where he could have his in-laws live in. We started out with going over the design with the client. With such a limited space we needed to fit a kitchen, living room and storage area. We insulated the walls with R22 insulation and framed out the living space. We then did all the rough in work for plumbing and electrical.  After dry walling and plaster work was done we proceeded to paint the basement with Premium Benjamin Moore Paint. We then installed R-Insulated Dricore Subfloors and on top of that a beige Quality laminate flooring from Molson Flooring .  In our basement projects we always recommend the insulated subfloor to our clients. We really like the extra warmth it provides and the extra cushioning it provides under your feet.

After the doors and baseboards where installed we had Besta Kitchens come in and install a custom kitchen.   They did a beautiful Light grey kitchen with an island. We also added LED under cabinet lighting and a white quartz countertop with grey veins. The back splash was also done with the same quartz for a seamless look. To finish off the basement we did vinyl steps and added an oak railing, stained to match the floors and iron spindles. As always, the clients where thrilled with the final product and very happy with our quality.  This Newmarket Basement Apartment project was another successful project finished by Yorkland Homes.
